Slack troubleshooting
Common issues
- The /vacation command says it doesn't recognize me — your Slack user mapping isn't set; ask an admin to map you in Integrations → Slack.
- Approval messages aren't appearing — the bot must be invited to the approval channel (`/invite @hellonomad`).
- Status not updating during leave — re-authorize the user-token scope in Integrations → Slack.
- Mention auto-replies not firing — the bot must be present in the channel where the mention happens.
Reinstall
In Integrations → Slack click "Reinstall" — runs the OAuth flow again with current scopes.
Uninstall
In Slack: Settings → Manage apps → Hello Nomad → Remove. All bot/user tokens are revoked and deleted from our database within seconds.
Microsoft Teams troubleshooting
Common issues
- Adaptive Card buttons not working — your Teams admin must enable "Sideloading custom apps" or install the official package.
- Notifications going to the wrong channel — verify the channel mapping in Integrations → Teams.
Reinstall
Remove the app from Teams admin center, then re-add via Integrations → Teams.
Uninstall
Teams admin center → Apps → Hello Nomad → Block / Remove.
Google Calendar troubleshooting
Common issues
- Approved leave isn't appearing on Google Calendar — verify the user has connected Google in user settings.
- Holidays trimming the wrong dates — check the location's holiday calendar selection.
Reinstall
In user settings → Connections → Google: disconnect, then reconnect to refresh OAuth scopes.
Uninstall
In user settings → Connections → Google: click "Disconnect". Or revoke at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Outlook troubleshooting
Common issues
- Calendar events not syncing — verify the user has Outlook connected with calendar scopes.
- Auto-reply not flipping on — Outlook personal accounts: confirm MailboxSettings access was granted on connect.
Reinstall
In user settings → Connections → Outlook: disconnect and reconnect.
Uninstall
Microsoft account → Privacy → Apps and services that can access your data → Hello Nomad → Remove.
Jira troubleshooting
Common issues
- Tickets aren't reassigning when leave starts — confirm the Jira Forge app is installed in your Atlassian site.
- Reassignment skipped — your Jira user account must be linked to the Hello Nomad member with the same email.
Reinstall
Reinstall the Forge app: `cd packages/jira-forge && forge install --upgrade`.
Uninstall
In Atlassian admin → Apps → Hello Nomad → Uninstall.
